Each season Girls on the Run of Middle Tennessee identifies and selects a dynamic group of coaches to lead each of our teams of 8-15 girls. Coaches are parents, teachers, school administrators, college students and other community members who are committed to developing and celebrating our girls.
The Head Coach is a volunteer position that works with a team of coaches to facilitate the Girls on the Run curriculum to program participants. This position entails approximately four hours per week for a 10-week commitment.
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach at a Girls on the Run program site while serving as a role model and mentor for program participants. The position entails approximately 1.5-3 hours per week for a 10-week commitment.
The Substitute Coach is a volunteer position which assists the Head and Assistant Coaches at a Girls on the Run program site. The position entails being available as needed for a 10-week commitment.

Coaches may indicate a preference for the site at which they would like to coach. If coaches do not have a preference, we will assign them to a location in need of volunteers.
Each team receives a site allowance and gift card. Coaches must submit all receipts related to program expenses at the end of the season and will be reimbursed as appropriate for an amount not to exceed the site allowance.
